EVES Garden

EVES is starting a community garden – you may have seen some of our posts about fundraising.  As part of the process, Ms. Wilson has started a blog to document the progress of this project from initial thoughts onwards.

Here’s the link, please clink on it to continue to her blog:  https://evesgarden.edublogs.org

Year End Happenings!

year end

As our year comes to an end this week (Thursday is the last day of school) we have a few reminders about happenings at EVES:

-Wednesday – PAC Sponsored Fun Day (Thanks PAC!)

-Wednesday – Track and Field Celebration Assembly at 2:00 p.m. We will be handing out ribbons to our District Track and Field participants.

-Thursday – Eagle View Year-End Awards Assembly – 1:30 p.m.

Parents are invited to both Awards Assemblies. We look forward to seeing you.

EVES School Mask

Our school unveiled the newly carved mask created by artist, Jason Hunt, at the Kwakiutl Big House on June 16, 2016.  The artist in residence project allowed students to learn about carving tools and each class was able to see the piece come alive from a block of wood to it being used on the dance floor.

Photography Project – Ms. Kiatipis’ Grade 4 class

Ms. Kiatipis’ Grade 4 students have been working on a photography project over the past few months to capture the images of the things that make them who they are. The project was about seeing the world from the child’s perspective and sharing that perspective with our families. We made cookies and invited families to come view.20160616_185941 20160616_185946 20160616_191105

Eagle View Big House Celebration

Our year end celebration at the Kwakiutl Big House was a beautiful success.  Thank you to our First Nations staff who meticulously prepared and carried out this event, and thank you to the Kwakiutl First Nation.  Our students made us so proud.
